On 29th December 2022, the Union Grants Commission (UGC) announced the UGC NET Exam Date 2023 on its official webpage. According to the official announcement, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will organize the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) 2023 from 29th December 2022 to 17th January 2023 at various examination centres. The examination will be organized in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. As per the official notification, there will be a total of two papers. In Paper 1, there will be 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) related to reading comprehension, general awareness, reasoning ability, and divergent thinking. While in Paper 2, there will be 100 questions related to the selected subjects by the aspirant.
Paper 1 will be of 50 marks, and Paper 2 will be of 100 marks. All the aspirants will get 3 hours (180 minutes) to solve the question paper. The Examination will be organized in two shifts, and there will be no breaks between Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 will be organized in the first shift from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM. While Paper 2 will be organized in the second shift from 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM.
The UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) 2023 consists of 83 subjects. As per the notification, the syllabus has been renewed and has been applicable since June 2019. The online registration procedure will start on 29th December 2022 and end on 17th January 2023. Application fee for General and Unreserved categories is INR 1,100; for OBC and EWS categories is INR 550; for other categories like SC, ST, PWD, and Third gender, the fee is INR 275.
